ASObject 0.9 Released

Good afternoon!
I just finished uploading ASObject 0.9 and I must say I am very happy to announce that is available for all of you to download. There have been a TON of changes in this release that are helping me gear up for the 1.0 release of ASObejct (which, hopefully will not be more than a year out). Please be sure to read through the change log to ensure that you don’t get bit by one of the major changes that happened in this release!

A Letter To Colorado State Senate

I have written the following letter to my Senators in Colorado. Please feel free to use this letter in full or as a template to send to your own Representatives. It is important as citizens of the United States to participate in the making of laws and letting our Representatives know what we want and how we would like them to vote. Read More...

Stardate 90123.8

Yesterday I posted a bash_profile function that would allow you to get the current Stardate. While this little bash tweak was cool I really wanted to do something a little more in-depth so I started searching for other ways of calculating the current Stardate. I eventually stumbled upon a perl script that I would like to share with you all now. Read More...

My Stance On Guns

As many of you know, I am not a supporter of gun control in the United States. I do not believe that the crimes committed with guns need to be dealt with by taking away the guns of every law abiding American. Many of you I have argued with over this stance and often times I have been called short-sighted for my thinking. I recently came across a quote attributed to America’s first president, George Washington that put my reasons for keeping guns in perfect perspective:

"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government."

The point of this statement is about the citizens of a country being able to protect themselves from their own government. As has been said numerous times, “People should not be afraid of their Government, Government should be afraid of their people.” In a world where a government has access to semi and fully-automatic weapons so should the people. For there will come a time, as has been shown in just about every government in history, when the government will take freedoms away from the people and it will be up to the people to decide when enough is enough. If the people are not equipped to take up a revolution and face their government then chaos and dictatorship is inevitable.

If you do not agree with me on this then I respect your opinion but I also ask that you respect mine under the protection of the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America: The Freedom of Speech!
